Transfer and Manage Your Multiple Cloud Files with MultCloud

If you started by uploading your data online to a certain cloud service, but then over time you realized that that service is not for you and you prefer to store your data in another cloud service you could find yourself with a c`onsiderable amount of files to move away from the Internet with an increase in time and resources for the “change” of cloud service.

Today, however, there is a new web service Multcloud, that allows you to fully automate the transfer between different cloud services by doing the whole operation online, therefore without the data having to pass through your machine, in practice, all the files will be transferred via internet directly from cloud service A to service B without occupying your Internet connection. the transfer will be encrypted and no data will ever be kept on the Multcloud servers. So let’s see what are the necessary steps to migrate our data from one cloud service to another.

    About Multcloud

MultCloud is a service specialized in managing multiple clouds in a single environment and transferring files from cloud to cloud, allowing you to perform file migrations or create automatic backups and synchronization between different services.

MultCloud manages all operations, synchronizations and file transfers from a web interface. No desktop client is available, but the cloud-to-cloud processes you set up continue to run regardless of whether you are signed in or not. If you’ve set up one-way or two-way synchronization, you can either require this cycle to operate indefinitely or set it to a schedule for overnight broad migration. One-way synchronizations used for backup can also be set up for incremental execution of.

MultCloud can concurrently create multiple copies of the data. For those who activate a subscription to the service, it is possible to perform up to 10 processes of this type simultaneously. For users with a free plan, however, you can run up to a maximum of 2 processes simultaneously. Subscriber users can also enable one-way synchronizations with multiple cloud destinations.

How to Synchronize and Transfer Files from Cloud to Cloud with MultCloud

MultCloud works through a browser-based user interface that can be accessed after creating an account. The main screen is a “cloud viewer” that shows the linked cloud accounts, the amount of data stored in each and the remaining space.

You’ll obviously need to connect your cloud storage accounts to MultCloud before you see all of this. It is very simple to do.

    • Click on the “Add Cloud Driver” button at the top right. This will show a central pane with all the cloud services supported by MultCloud (Google Drive, DropBox, OneDrive, Amazon Drive, Alfresco, HubiC, pCloud, Evernote, etc.)
    • Click on the “cloud” icon. If you want to add then click on “Next” bottom.
    • The window will open where you will have to enter your credentials to access that Cloud service and add it to MultCloud.
    • Once the MultCloud software has been authorized to extract data from the cloud storage service, it will be displayed on the left margin of Cloud Explorer. You would be able to access directories and files stored within it by clicking on any cloud service specified.
    • You may also add files directly from MultCloud to your cloud provider by clicking on the “Upload” button. The GUI allows drag and drops data, also enabling you to connect several files and directories at the same time.
    • If you add a large amount of data, you will be kept informed by the interface of its progress and you can devote yourself to your work. With Premium MultCloud.
    • If you are adding a large amount of data, the interface will keep you informed of its progress and you can devote yourself to your work. With MultCloud Premium.
    • Transfers should take place faster than the free version since you will have 10 threads that can run simultaneously to transfer data from cloud to cloud or from PC to cloud.
    • While that’s a nice perk, we would like MultCloud to have a desktop client. You must keep the MultCloud browser-accessible, otherwise, the process would end without one.

One-time cloud to cloud data transfers

    • Click on the “Cloud Transfer” button at the top of the screen to conduct a one time move from one cloud drive to another. Choose the source and destination clouds on the page which opens.
    • Both folders and files can be transferred. Whenever you like, you can move whatever you want to your cloud storage account at once, which is helpful when switching from one provider to another.
    • In “Options“, you can tell MultCloud to overwrite duplicate files in the destination folder only if they are older, tell them to delete the source file once the transfer is complete, send notifications when the activity is complete and set exclusions of the type of file if you don’t want to transfer everything to a folder.

You can also schedule a transfer which will occur later.

    Bi-directional synchronization

Click “Cloud Sync” at the top to set up a file-to-server backup (one-way sync) or switch on two-way sync. As with one-off transfers, you will need to choose a source cloud and a destination cloud and you can select specific folders for each.

You may need to name the operation, in addition to choosing the source and destination, and then choose whether to do a one-way or two-way synchronization.

If you are configuring one-way synchronization, under the options there are several types of one-way synchronization that you can choose from:

Simple Sync: files added, modified and deleted in the source will be replicated to the destination.

Mirror Sync: the source and destination data are still the same; additional destination data would be removed.

Cumulative Sync: files deleted in the source will not be deleted in the destination.

Update Sync: the files in the destination will be deleted, then the files added/modified in the source will be copied to the destination.

Incremental Backup: on each synchronization, a subdirectory will be created in the destination where the files added/modified from the source will be copied.

Full Backup: a subdirectory will be generated at each synchronization to the destination where all files are copied from the source.

You can also schedule one-way and two-way synchronization with options for daily, weekly or monthly execution. If not scheduled, copies of the files will be made almost in real-time, providing continuous synchronization or backup.

The cloud explorer also helps you to build directories and open, remove and copy data, in addition to transferring files. In MultCloud, you can also preview certain types of files including.pdf,.txt and image files, but not files from Microsoft Office or Google Docs.

To find files quickly you can use the search function. With the general search and quick search options available (quick search is done faster, but not all providers support this feature), you can search for files by keyword.

MultCloud Explorer also helps you to share information, either by using documents link or through having email access or through sharing material on social networks sponsored (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest and Linkedin).

You may create a public link, which anyone may use, or a private link with a password, while creating links. However, passwords are automatically generated and are only four characters long.

By right-clicking on any file or folder in Cloud Explorer and selecting “Go to Official Website”, you will directly access your cloud storage account, beneficial if you need to use Google Docs or another integrated application to edit a file.
